11 Days Everest Base Camp Trek

This exciting 11-day trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) will put you in the exact place that Edmund Hillary (New Zealand) and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay (Nepal) in 1953 planned their ascent of Mt. Everest (8848m). 

The Everest base camp trek takes you to an altitude of 5364 meters, physically challenging due to the altitude but with time dedicated to acclimatizing it is achievable. However, you will need to be reasonably fit to do this trek. Your guide will prioritize health and safety with gradual ascents to higher altitudes each day which is what acclimatizing is all about. This is an experience you will never forget but will require the strength of mind and a determined effort on your part. The scenery and amazing array of flora and fauna make the journey to EBC a more enjoyable experience. This shorter trek gets you to EBC in just 11 days from Kathmandu and return.

On this trek you will visit the predominantly Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar in the Khumbu District of Nepal and along the trail see colorful Tibetan Buddhist prayer flags, Mani stones (engraved with Buddhist mantras) and other Buddhist structures. Your trek is within the boundaries of the Sagamartha National Park and on the trails you will see some of the amazing wildlife, such as Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Musk Deer and the Himalayan Monal (brightly colored pheasant). A highlight of this trek will be a visit to the celebrated Tibetan Buddhist Tengboche Monastery - the biggest Buddhist monastery in the Khumbu region.

The actual trek begins and ends at Lukla - with return airline tickets included in the price. The true highlight of this trek is reaching EBC and being able to take in the spectacular view of Mt. Everest from Kala Patthar - famous for being a place to capture perfect panoramic views of Mt. Everest. Your camera needs to be fully charged as you capture these snow covered mountain views.
